Gays and the the community who love them are a big part of comedian Margaret Cho's audience, with equal reason her gig this Saturday is a dream be due [i]or[/i] owing true: cracking up the very great crowd at the Gay Games opening form at Soldier Field. She also has a point out of her own Sunday at the Chicago Theatre. During an interview, the normally fierce hell- raiser was surprisingly soft-spoken

Q What's your piece of work at the Gay Games?

A. I'm doing part of the big opening rite performing in it. And not competing. I'm not an athlete in any way.

Q Couldn't you cope in something?

A. Shopping! They'd have to make that an end

Q What are you expecting at Soldier Field?

A. I'm indisputable it will be very emotional. Whenever I walk to any kind of gay pride end I get very weepy. I start to vociferate at the Dykes on Bikes when they make progress by. They're very majestic and to a high degree beautiful. When you are different in this world, it's a to a high degree difficult thing, and sometimes the beauty in that difference is not acknowledged. And when it is, it is same powerful.

Q by what means do you classify yourself sexually?

A. I be wrought up like I can be everything and I understand everything, because I've had everything. I mean, I'm married now, to a man, and it's a same conventional marriage. I have a self-same kind of housewifey existence. moreover that doesn't change the fact that I did embrace my queernes and all of the different aspects of myself. I'm a gay man, I'm a gay woman, I'm transgendered, I'm transsexual, I'm a drag queen I'm all of it.

Q Besides the athletic single in kinds are there other categories where you'd like to papal court gay people compete?

A. Maybe we could do a controvert of DVD collections. Or shoe

Q What do you think of Chicago?

A. I like to eat there. A part I like to eat a part of pizza there. I've done a fate of shows there and I've always had a wondrous time, but I've never actually seen any of the city because I just work and then leave, unfortunately. This time I might actually have a chance to hang public a little bit.

Q Is Chicago a proper place for these games?

A. It's a great place for them. It's a big city, and it strikes me as a conservative city also, at times. in this way this is a chance for everybody to point out to up and be themselves and lay open up a lot of people's minds. Especially at a time when tribe try to pass laws against gay marriage in different states, it's a miraculous statement about, hey, this is the quintessential American city, and this is the quintessential gay adventure It's a great combination.
