Canopy-style portable lodges erected over bamboo chairs upon the Peninsula Hotel's terrace were the talk of the Service set of Chicago's annual fashion display Monday.

Many recalled near meltdowns at past fashion adventures from the sun's rays at the open-air rooftop venue at 108 E Superior.

A wraparound runway, draped in white, showcased classic further rich, lush, lightweight furs; suits and jackets with inverted pleats; body- hugging studd jeans, and pinstriped men's suits splashed with vibrant r furnishings. The runway drama came from the slim trousers and sexy corsets worn subject to fitted jackets and a man's leather jacket that regenerateed to a vest, demonstrated with a scarcely any strategic zippers manipulated by an obliging pattern

The finale featured squeeze outed polished soldiers from the Marine Air superintendence Group 48 of Illinois, who escorted women in decadent gown from Neiman Marcus. Their appearance forward the runway garnered a standing ovation. A not many flirtatious air kisses from the examples forced some escorts to crack a slight smile.

After their custom on the runway, the Marines were positioned with attendees at tables for a luncheon of tomato salad dotted with buffalo ricotta, sweet basil and balsamic gelee roasted free-range chicken, frozen lemon-thyme parfait with Michigan berries, thyme syrup and meringue crisp. The day was considered "perfect" by many and will be remembered for being comfortable and pleasant.
